TV Edits of the Viewtiful Joe Anime: Episode 3

Joe lands on a small crescent-shaped cay and fights Gran Bruce, who is clearly in his element.

Joe reacting to his new surroundings is shortened a bit, cutting out him looking at the palm tree and a close-up of his face.  For time, perhaps.
The anime re-uses the footage of the Jadow trio's introductions except this time Hulk is there in person with his new steel shoes.  Just like the first time, the Japanese version is silent while the English version adds dialogue, including that voice recognition system voice.  Bruce even says "this again?"

Expo Dub: "Fire Leo?  Great, now you've done it."
Again, this is because there's no text under the characters to label them in the Japanese version and you'd be forgiven for thinking the loud booming voice was Almighty Leader for a moment.

Very minor, but in the Japanese version of the anime, the last couple of shots go full screen while in English it's kept on the Jadow projector.
It's sort of an expo dub, but in the Japanese version when Bruce can't swim because of slow affecting him, he says "Whaaaaa? [I'm] sloooooow."  The English version makes it more clear why that's a problem by him instead saying "Holy dooley, why can't I move right?"  Presumably you have to be used to or ready for slow motion to fly or swim properly while it's active.

When Joe mocks Bruce it's one of the few instances of the hand sign being unedited in English.
In the Japanese version, Alastor opens up his fight with Joe by slashing at him.  The English version cuts that part out so he opens with the lightning ball instead.
Expo Speak: "Must be some kinda force field."
Alastor does have that aura that needs a slow motion hit to be broken the games, but no such aura is visible in the anime and the Japanese version doesn't make it clear why Joe's whiffing.

The English dub adds Almighty Leader chuckling right before Joe gets dropped into the film nexus, implying that he's involved in it (which he probably is).  The Japanese version just has Joe dropped in.

When Joe is doing his poses at the end of the episode, he does a little move with his handsign using both hands.  This is unedited in the English version.  It might look like it is for a couple of frames where the middle finger is missing, but it's like that in the Japanese version too.
Boy that was almost nothing in this one. I had more to say about what was ADDED to this episode or NOT taken out than what was removed.  The biggest thing that was removed was a single sword swipe.  I doubt it'll be the last time it'll be this light too.  Next time will be what can be considered the lost episode of sorts.
